WEIGHT, and TORQUE. This car weighs roughly 3700 lbs, and is by no means a torque monster. The last time out when i only ran 11.1 i had a slipping torque converter, and bald drag radials. Last night, was a 10.1 @ 138mpg with only 30psi of boost, again this car was driven to the track, and driven home. This car will break 9's, and to do it with show quality, body kit, was my goal to begin with. Yes the car is automatic, cause if you want to run 9's, you have to have it. The 6sp supra trans is not a 1/4 mile friendly gearbox at all. There are at least 40+ automatic supras in the 9's or better. Including the worlds fastest car on radials with MSP's supra running 8.2 @ 171 mph in the same trans i have, automatic. Its all about the tuning. I only run 110 octane just to be safe so nothing blows up, i can easily run 100 octane all the time with is pump gas. I drive the cr every weekend, and in the evening sometimes during the week. Go ask SW, he ran 9.8 on his second run, and had "only" 802 Hp at the time, but if you want to go fast with little skill SP400 is the way to go! Both cars are 10 and 9-second daily drivers. One is putting down 973 HP and runs a 9.85 on stock suspension. However, I *do* like the paint job, the fact that it's running what appears to be good engine management, and the seats. But I'm not into drag racing or show cars, so that could explain it. If it's what you love, then it's served its purpose. Personally, I'd've gone for more of an SCCA racing-style approach, if anything. But that's me. And although a huge single turbo *can* work for road racing, the turbo lag generated by using only one large turbo is usually considered pointless compared to the benefits of using two. That said, however, some of the 4-cylinder Supras in JGTC do use that kind of setup, I believe. (Though the degree of horsepower this particular car is putting out would make traction an issue.) Using Accels DFI street ram TPI, and ZZ4 should be about 400 hp and 420 lb/ft torque. That'll be good for my little 2900 lb. car to hit low 12's high 11's on street tires. And i was suppose to go to the rsx meet that i think you went to but i couldnt make it.   - kurrupt999 on Friday, December 19, 2003 The only thing that really disappointed me was that the supra was making 980hp and only running 11's! what kind of crap is that!!! over here in Austin texas we have 3 supras making over 700hp and running 9's. in the video it looks like they put on slicks for that track but the slicks werent real slicks they were just stickier tires on the factory rims! my supra only has 632rwhp and 600lb-ft of torque without nitrous and im runnin consistent 11.2's on my 18x12 Nitto 555R's. Thanks everyone!   - mk4life on Thursday, January 29, 2004 yo andrevas, my car simply has 630rwhp, my last comment i put down 11.2's on some nitto 555r's now i got me some weld racing 15" rims with mickey thompson drag slicks and got my time down to a 10.8! now recently i had a complete wet direct port nitrous setup wtih a 150shot coming on at around 4500-5500rom and my redline is at 9800rpm with fuel cut-off at 10,100 rpm. at the track i ran a 9.72 at 158mph. so you won't wanna try and drop me. but i didn't know it was a full show car so i'll let you have that. my car is a daily driver but with some restrictions...i don't drive it in the rain or drive to places that have a loaded parking lot like walmart or target. you will see my car at those places but only at night when it gets close to closing time. my car also has a full interior but with a 6point chromoly cage and 1 15" sub with 2 phoenix gold amps. one for the sub and the other for the rest of the speakers. now lets see if i can get my rwhp up to 1000. and i never take my supra to the   - turboman600 on Saturday, January 31, 2004 ...vegas show meet cause i don't like getting bugs and road debris damaging my original factory red paint.   - turboman600 on Saturday, January 31, 2004 turboman... do you post on supraforums cause i just dont buy the 10K redline you have as NO supra i know of that isnt a drag car have a redline like that. I would of heard of your car if this was the case.
