hey i know those guys, they are on my local forum www.indycarz.com. He said the LS1 is better in EVERY way to the rotory, lighter, cheaper, 50/50 weight balance, better gas mileage, everything.

My boss is looking to do that to a 3rd gen rather than rebuild his Monster Miata that was crashed...

Hey Germ (or anybody), on average, whats the estimate on total spending when converting a 2nd or 3rd gen RX7 to LS/LT power? Got an idea??

It took him a solid week of over 12 hour days to convert the Miata but the RX-7 is an easier car to convert I believe...because you have to change out everything in the Miata

Just shy of $20k but he did everything the right way...Barry Grant Demon Carb...new strengthened T5...new Ford Racing 302...you could probably do it for less.

Thats a cool Rx-7 I was on ebay last night looking around. One of my friends in Ca had a gutted first gen I got to beat on, they are a lot of fun.


Anyone make a conversion kit to stick a LS motor into the diffrent generations??

I would love a nice RX7 with a v8 in it, i saw a pretty sweet modded RX7 Racing about the other day, white with nice rims and a good (ie not ricer) sound.

Not a bad site at all, looks like they have everything! The price to get the engine and tranny mounted isn't bad, after that though its going to stack up quick price wise.

wow, pretty damn nice, I like how its camming while idle.
I still can't get over the sound, it just doesn't match with the car since I'm so used to the rotary sound.

btw, near the end of the video, that's not a R6, its a YZF600, those thing are slow.
