- kukri on Friday, April 08, 2005

Volkswagen will be pissed if it doesn't!!
- labomba on Friday, April 08, 2005

Thought its gonna be really REALLY heavy... and the styling is a triumph of form over function. So it'll be interesting to see whether it manages it.
- labomba on Friday, April 08, 2005

2003 gumball 3000, supposedly the driver did 242 in TX. can u really believe 241 mph from a supercharged v8? wow, that is nuts. now everyone remember to dl the McLaren top speed run :)
- protias on Friday, April 08, 2005

- InSaNe///M3 on Friday, April 08, 2005

Wow! God damn I've been waiting to see a video of this car, not bad from Sweden. Anyway I've heard this car has alot of technical problem, not so reliable as a sports car, maybe its right. Anyway anyone seen the Gumball Rally 2004? The car didn't finnish, not even half, it broke up coz of alot of problems etc.. The car is cool anyway, who cares?!

how is this a record if top fuel dragsters go 350mph in just a 1/4 mile?
- tonyhall122 on Friday, April 08, 2005
|
It's a street car. Those drag cars can not be driven on the street.
- ledlum on Friday, April 08, 2005
|
How does this car hold the record when the McLaren F1 went 391kmh? I have the vid of it, so I know I'm not trippin.
- billythekid on Friday, April 08, 2005
|
video sucked, but i love the car.
- karpetcm2 on Friday, April 08, 2005
|
billythekid, becouse in that video it was unoffical.. I think
- GTRJack on Friday, April 08, 2005
|
i bet if you moddified a M3 you could beat that....
- matt420_c20 on Friday, April 08, 2005
|
Is this the new one (800 something hp), or the older version?
- clee19821013 on Friday, April 08, 2005
|
Insane. thats like many hundreds of feet per second.
- M5golfer on Friday, April 08, 2005
|
391km/h is 234mph... Last I checked 242 > 234... HMMMMMM
- braymond141 on Friday, April 08, 2005

The McLaren speed was the average speed of both sides of the track to take wind into account. It really hit 391 but the average speed was 386. And you have to realize the Konig speed run was on full street trim with the extra weight of safety equipment such as a roll cage, and used the tires fitted for the street while the Mclaren used slicks for it's run.
- gobs3z on Friday, April 08, 2005
|
Another thing you need to take into account is that this run was done at Nardo where the McLaren ran 372. The Konig didn't even hit it's rev limiter on it's Nardo run, it only hit 6750rpm vs. it's full power output at 806bhp at 6900rpm and 395km/h. The record run by McLaren was done at Germany's Ehra-Leissen where they have a 9 mile straight, Nardo is a constant curve.
- gobs3z on Friday, April 08, 2005
|
If the Konig does a run at the german test track it will deffinately hit 395.
- gobs3z on Friday, April 08, 2005
|
Bah, got the wrong calculator =/ I'm wrong in MPH
- braymond141 on Friday, April 08, 2005
|
Finally! they always claimed top speed of 242 mph but never actually have proof of it. Love taht engine...american DOHC! Wish it had high revs to fit my taste (as if I can buy one). but sick car its either this or a Zonda F!
- spacemonkey629 on Friday, April 08, 2005
|
M3 would kill it
- Maciek69 on Friday, April 08, 2005
|
I reckon a fully done up Civic would beat it too...
- soarersteve on Friday, April 08, 2005
|
tonyhall, the record is for production vehicles that someone can buy and drive on the road
- fatjean on Friday, April 08, 2005
|
gotta love that swedish beast! new world speed record from a production car! nice!
- spooldswede on Friday, April 08, 2005
|
388... so the 391 Mclaren is Still faster...
- SkunkWorks on Friday, April 08, 2005
|
no because the average top speed of the f1 was 386 km/h, so the swede takes the crown.
- r_ushko on Friday, April 08, 2005
|
both mclaren and ccr eat my ba!!s the Lamborghini r-gt would smoke both of them on a track and maybe 1/4 mile not sure take that all u lambo haters just u cant get one
- LambosSmoke on Friday, April 08, 2005
|

what the heck? crappy video
- chad21 on Saturday, April 09, 2005
|
LambosSmoke, a Radical SR-8 would smoke the Lambo r-gt on a track, and it's under $100,000. So whats your point again? Leave "this will smoke that" to yourself cause you prove nothing, and the Lambo r-gt is a badass car so don't ruin it.
