cool cars, awesome sound from that motor. Hope the videos good... cant wait to hear a boosted S2K

Intercooler looks sweet in that front bumper... wish that turbo spool/BOV was a little louder.
- TurboLaser on Monday, November 14, 2005

why would you bother turbo-ing a car and only running 7psi of boost, youd probably lose that much power by lowering the compression ratio to make the motor turbo friendly to begin with.

Is this vid worth downloading on dial up...it will take about 8 hours!
- soarersteve on Monday, November 14, 2005
|
definitely not, some squeezer giving gay running commentary on two cars going in a straight line then chuckling to himself and saying its "awesome". Youd be just as entertained watching your own foecal matter slide down the side of your toilet bowl.

In one word no. They show a few street runs at considerable distance with a hand held camera of 3 s2000's. This video has no music, no in car video, and no real action per say.
All in all its a weak video, they compare only the straight line power on the street using a suicide lane and one other lane near some residential spot. It would have been far more entertaining to watch something like a

Thanks very much for your help...I didn't think it would be all that flash....but 100 meg!! shit!

I hear that Top Gear's back! Aston Martin V8 Vantage vs. Porsche 911 Carrera S vs BMW M6. I'm going to sit here pressing F5 till it appears.

If the (turbo S2000) is only running 7PSI of boost then it's likely still using the stock bottom end/high compression ratio. I doubt the (turbo S2000) has a "purpose built" low compression turbo motor for the simple fact he is running such low boost levels. 7PSI for a low compression turbo motor is just teasing it!

theres nothing more irritating than hearing "s are slow"... anything is slow in the wrong conditions. I think I'll go race a snowmobile on my jetski in the ocean and claim that the snowmobile is slow. My point it that S2Ks are not meant for straight line driving. Sure you can build them to be, but it takes alot. The S2K was mainly built for handling. Just look at the suspension.

sorry, that first part is supposed to be "such and such car is slow"
- xRxWxHx on Monday, November 14, 2005

thanks for the comments good and bad. the blue car is my car, and NA runs mid to low 13s. the turbo car does have stock bottom end. and dynoed 315-330 wheel at 7psi. dave
first run for the stock vs turbo, turbo car missed 3rd bad. 1st run for me vs turbo i spun like mad till 3rd. :)

s2200suzuka, don't let the negative comments discourage you (not that they do),a four cylinder N/A engine that traps 100s isn't close to slow. Add to that the handling abilities, build, and looks, I'm always happy to see s2ks racing in any manner. I would like to see under the hood, mods, and more exhaust sound.

These kinds of vids are cool to see. i love seeing first hand the difference between certain mods. I think these are very useful. Thanks! I would put an in car camera to give the feel of how much they pull on each other. I love O-ace's M3 vs. m3 vids since i own one. Makes my stock motor M3 look wimpy! I put horsepower into my suspension...can't afford a supercharger!

As the owner of an 2002 AP1 S2000 I find it funny that people say this car is slow. As aforementioned in another post, the S2000's element isnt str8 line acceleration. The car is very driver focused. Even stock the handling is superb, the shifter is unbelievable, the chassis is granite solid, and the engine stays smooth to 9K. I cant think of another car that has this balance for the price.
- CivicB18 on Monday, November 14, 2005

The only roadster that I can think of even near its price (350Z Roadster) still doesnt offer the drivng pleasure the S2K provides. Other cars such as the Porsche Boxster, Boxster S, Mercedes SLK350, and the BMW Z4 costs thousands more for simular or WORSE performance. I just wish Honda would have offered a coupe version. Id like to tell all the haters who havent driven one to do so.
- CivicB18 on Monday, November 14, 2005

I think it is retarded that you guys call the S2000 an AP1 or AP2 with all your 1337 JDM talk. It is a fucking S2000 to everyone on this planet, you are no more intelligent for knowing your car's chassis code!
- Slobra on Monday, November 14, 2005

And so Mustang guys are just as retarded for calling them Fox Bodies right? Same goes for Camaro and Firebird guys when they call them F-bodies? Grow up and quit your bitchin. I'm a Y-Body guy myself, used to be a F-Body guy, but I love S2Ks... very good looking cars, exceptional handling, just lacks in the bottom end... but there are ways to fix that.

I've driven a stock AP2 and i liked it a lot. It feels light and nimble and very controllable. But, on the other hand, it feels like every other honda I've driven- kindof cheap in tems of feel. When you close the doors it feels like a hollow tin can. I have a '67 mustang that has put over 540 to the rear wheels, and coming from that car to the honda makes the honda feel, well, kindof gutless...
- qramos on Monday, November 14, 2005

admittedly, they are totally different types of cars, but even for the light nimble feel, the inline four really seems to lack torque. Its almost the same as my 2000 civic Si until you hit the upper RPMs. Thats not my idea of a fast car, but it definately makes for a fun car. And, in all honesty, I would probably enjoy it more than my mustang, especially if it had a turbo kit.

Well Burnout, my screen name is Slobra because I used to own a Cobra. I now own an S2000 and have owned one for 2 years. Douche.

S2200Suzuka: For one I absolutley love your car. Not only for the modifications, but that color is just gorgeous, by far my favorite S2K color. Well done.

stock to stock, not so sure that you can call Porsche Boxster S perform worse than S2000. S2000 is a great handling car, but some people just don't like the fact that they have to rev. it all the time, more of a personal preference thing. In any case, for most driving condition, straight line performance is still quite relevant. Handling is a fun element, but not like we got the chance to hit

and by the way yu don't need twisty mountain roads to appreciate its handling abilities

Not to mention the up until 05 the s2k has the most powerful engine in the world hp/litre wise. 2 litres 240 bhp = 120 hp per litre! That's more than you get from any supercar. That in itself is amazing.

how do you get away with running that many times in a semi residential area during the day with out a cop driving bye?

"Well Burnout, my screen name is Slobra because I used to own a Cobra. I now own an S2000 and have owned one for 2 years.
- Slobra on Monday, November 14, 2005" ... What does that have to do with what I said about you? NOTHING. You bitched about them calling it an AP1, and my point in regards to your bitching is... do you think its just as retarded for mustang guys to call them fox bodies?....
