The GT-R might be heavier but that transmission is super slick & I think it look better too. I wish I had the dough to add a gray one to my stable... !

They said it braked better because the Evo overtook him...uhm...it had to overtake him because he hadn't reached a 100 yet. Little silly.

rkolsteeg...damn you beat me to it!! I was going to say the same thing.

There is a GT-R a couple of blocks from my home, and I have to say that every time I walk past it it just leaves me unimpressed with its looks. It is just so "plain" looking.

although i have an EVo X. I would pick the GT-R as a daily driver. I would do some minor mods and weight savings and thats it./like lighter seats exhaust etc./
For racing i pick the EVo X. Simply becausethe easier fix and a lot cheaper car + maintenance. Also because the MT. Just simply unbeatable to maintenance cost vs the GT-R transmission.

^ ^ ^ Who wants MT when a Gearbox can shift like that ! Perfect changes 100% of the time , do drama , no fuss ! And much quicker than MT too .

Exactly dazzyboy12... !

i prefer a traditional manual over flippy paddles for a few reasons.hopefully no one will ever come up with a way to shift like that on motorcycles

dazzyboy12, i think you dont read what i said.Because the maintenance cost... Which is, unless you have unlimited money , very important in racing.
Specially when the qtr transmission oil is cost around $710 for one fluid change in the tranny. As far as i know.

price list :

and this is just the oil yet...
That is why some people , like me pick the MT over the paddle. For street is a different story as i mentioned in my first post.

Well, for a street car I wouldn't mind having a paddle shift but I do still prefer a manual. Who cares if it is a little slower? It is so much more exciting and rewarding do get your own up- and downshifts perfect. Plus, have you ever thought about people (like me occasionally) who drift? You certainly lose a couple of techniques if you lose the clutch.

manual=more exciting and cheaper parts to source...but..miss shift n grinding of gears while changing up or down gears can really screw up ur gears..and it sucks when u cant get into gear to have some engine breaking while using ur brakes during fast deceleration
- eggie_80 on Thursday, January 28, 2010
|
^ that can happen only if you miss shift ,too early down shift or you tranny sincros are gone.
It has nothing to do with the healthy transmission. If you MT is healthy you dont get those symptom's.

eggie_80 that is what heel and toe is for.

if you're grinding gears get an automatic and don't ever buy a bike

dazzyboy12 I m sure you have never done track events/autocross if you think a sequential is good for that

^ ^ ^ Have you Driven a DSG ???? Hmmm probably not .

Unfortunalety the new 997/2 Turbo smoked the GTR...I hope that the guys at Nissan wake up and reduce the heavy weight of the GTR and improve the reliabibylity of the car. During a highspeed run done the leading german magazine Auto Motor und Sport, the gearbox and launch control stopped working properly!!

I dont like this new trend for automatic/dsg/flappy paddle supercars either. Rest assured bikes with automatic tranny's will never catch on, consider the fugly Honda DN-01 for instance. Pee-ew!
